Thunder No More

I say I did my best, but
my efforts appear attenuated
in time’s long spectrum…
a heart deceived by a head?

through vast seas
of mental anguish I swam
only seeking your shore…
just a storm stirring your waves?

tumultuous clouds now dissipate
hope for another sun to shine…
for new dawn to break a sullied horizon
and I pray you thunder no more…
