Echo

Echo’s voice still haunts the hills—
her lover’s song refused in vanity—
her spirit can never be forgotten…

Strung through heart of wood…
On lustful winds fondling leaves…
Dancing among blades of grass…

Echo is reborn—
on the tongues of humans—
her song lives evermore…

  1. Matt, stunning poem! Welcome to the world of coincidences! I’m pleased and thrilled that this worked out as it did. Some may find it weird, I think it is kind of magical, which by the way suits your poem. I happen to think it has a very magical quality to it, embracing nature, and all the mysteries that go along with it. The very last verse captures a charming whimsical tone, “her song lives evermore…”, so good!

Again please enjoy your weekend, and thank you for participating in the challenge!

    Take care,
    Pepperanne
