The Mind’s Eye

Young and handsome
fit and firm
sleek dark hair—tight

Smooth fair skin
not a blemish to behold
eyes a glow—alive

stuck in place
frozen in time
but the cup
was always filling

running over now
regret spilling
to the floor—pooling
into foreboding puddles

my slip and slide life
causes me mental sprains
my mind has become
stiffened and rigid

these years of nothing
must meet their end
escape is within reach
power was always with me

many times I have reached
for the key to these chains
the harder I strain
the faster they flee

is the reach
all there is?

Your wine is darkness
howbeit I drink of you
your taste sour on my tongue
drinking words bitter in my throat
your sickness stirring in my belly
my mind—stung numb…

A foul and corrupt spirit
yet consumed willingly
conceding full control
I—your puppet
You—my master
together—I pirouette…

Charred – A Collaboration with Perso~in~Poesia

As a candle bears a blistered reminder of its conflagration
my soul is marred and charred by the memory of you…
yet the thought of your flame still ignites my desire
the pleasure of your burn still alters my hue
my heart a quick-fuse longing for your ignition

Fire, fire set in motion, engulfing words that burn
my flesh is marred and charred by the memory of you…
from the deepest point, my joints sizzle contracting muscles
that ache for the touch and feel of your sensuous core
to let it blister and boil as my greed springs from a coil

My body—tinder—awaiting the errant spark of your flint
my hopes marred and charred by the memory of you…
invoke my wick once more—feast on my warmth
melt for me with feverish convulsions
let me bathe in you as paraffin to fire

My mind erupts, flowing hot liquid magma, oozing
my being marred and charred by the memory of you…
leaving a crust surrounding my heart that is petrified
in a capsule that will survive a millennium of time
so the future may discover true love was found buried alive
