Whispering Madness

IGNITE my pneuma!

Wrench my cadaver from the grave once laid!

Wipe the dreck from my prostrate soul…

and begin to live again!

I gaze once more at this world of tragedy…

perceiving the consequence of apathy.

The sins of our fathers…

revisited on the sons—digress

Return MY senses before they’re gone

There is no retribution for your trespass!

Return to life—take back morality

Buried is your only chance at purity!

But voices of demons fill the air—lies gleam and deceive

So I bear my soul in truth—to warn of forces unseen.

But my words fall shallow—my deeds—no compense

My subconscious mind collides with conscious thought and congeals

We feed you convention…there is no appeal.

Alas, a cold and indifferent world—where judging eyes do tread…

The final step over the edge—ignore the flashes in your head

they scorn and mock—His blood dried and fled.

This is our world now

What remains in this wasteland but the walking dead?

Now you see…

  3. Wow! That is some powerful work… I love the switch between the speaker and what I am assuming is “the powers that be”…I enjoyed the flow back and forth. You have power in your words!
